Man, I am so tired! Been a busy week, between my daughter surprising me on Birthday with a call "Mom go to the door"! I'm stepping into the shower with color in my hair......"Mom answer your door"....had Skip go to the door and there at the door is Jennifer and Bo! What a SURPRISE. They drove in from Virginia Beach on Tuesday, she spend a couple of nights with her dad and then drove up to SURPRISE ME! Yes, I was SURPRISED!
Then we got the call from my sister in law saying they were having Mom transported to the hospital! So Skip gets squared away, packs a bag and off he goes to southern Indiana to find out what is going. My mother in law had a stroke. She is in the hospital and will be until next week, they want to be sure that she can return home and is able to care for herself. The upside, she will be getting a full Geriatric work up! Yeah!!!! That is so needed and finally we will have a good picture of what is going on with her. Prognosis, she is recovering well, it's her mental health we are concerned with, the minister from her church came up for a visit and in no uncertain terms told her that if she needs to have someone pick her up for church or run her to the store to call. Now if she will only do that, but then just getting her to answer her door when her family and friends come for a visit would be an accomplishment! We'd just be happy if she would open her blinds and let the sun in or the windows to let the fresh air in!
Of course the sister in law is beyond being a pain in the ass! I'm wondering if she hit her head when she was a child. She hasn't told "her" granddaughters" that Gigi is in the hospital, they are too "sensitive", hell she probably hasn't told her own son! (Oh and if she does read my blog, which I doubt, yes I think you are an idiot!)
Of course, Mom is distraught that she (the SIL) won't allow her to talk to the great granddaughters on the phone while she is in the hospital, what I don't understand is why the MIL doesn't call from the hospital while she is alone in the room.....who knows!
Back to the run down, Jennifer and Bo took Nana to Cracker Barrel for "brunch" and after our meal we headed to the hospital. Jennifer and Bo have yet to meet Gigi and I've been married to Skip for 9 years. Mom was happy to see them and Bo had no issues with the setting, she hopped up on the bed and had a long conversation, the amazing thing, my MIL understood every word of 4 year old speak, myself I need a translation!
Of course my SIL couldn't be upstaged she did everything in her power to insure that my kids knew they were outsiders, Jennifer on the other hand, wasn't fazed and made sure that the SIL knew she was family! Jennifer you RAWK! You are your mother's daughter!!!!
Skip stayed in southern Indiana until Friday eve and Jennifer and Bo stayed with me Thursday evening. Nothing like sleeping with a 4 year old!
Yesterday I spend the ENTIRE day scrapbooking! Yes you heard me, except I didn't get one page complete! How sad is that? Actually I worked on a project I have been procrastinating on and it is now done! AND ran all the games and door prizes, you see I am the organizer for our little band of scrappers and I was just not in the spirit of things.
Okay I'm going to vent here......I realize the economy is down and money is tight, but if you are going to say you are going to do something and even continue to commit on and after the deadline and then flake out at the last minute......don't expect to be included in the next event! It not only makes our group look bad with the Retreat owner, but it directly affects her bottom line because she went out and spent money on food based on the number of people that SAID they were coming based on our deadline count! So, for future events everything will be PREPAID. No longer will we have the luxury of paying the day of the event. Ok, vent over!
We did have fun yesterday, I have pictures to prove it! I just wish I had been a bit more organized. I'm hoping to do a bit of scrapping this week and finish the 2 pages I have started.
Time to finish up, Jennifer and the baby will be here in 1/2 hour and I need to get a shower, she's going to "help" me clean....I just need to vacuum, but if she wants to help, that's fine with me I get a chance to visit more with her and the baby. Alex is suppose to be over later in the day, maybe his "girl" will be with him, maybe not.............hope she learns early I don't do DRAMA and we have a lot of DRAMA going on with that situation :-).
Bye for now!
